studio

1) Studio

Officetel

  • Multiple fully-furnished studio units in the average floor area of 20-30㎡ with a separate kitchen and bathroom.
  • They are located on main roads next to subway stations and their facilities are in a good condition, with the average deposit of 10 million won and monthly rent of 700,000 won.

Regular Studio

  • They are located in residential areas with a 5-to-10-minute walk from subway stations.
  • Rents are based on the size and furnishing options of studios.

Multi-roomed Houses

  • With more space in a house, the rent would cost more than 1 million won.
  • If you opt for renting an apartment, the monthly rent would be more based on the size and furnishing options of the unit.

2) Gositel/Gosiwon

  • Multiple small-sized rooms of less than 10m2 are housed in a building.
  • Some are equipped with a small shower stall/toilet while others share bathroom facilities with other tenants. Generally, laundry and kitchen facilities are shared.
  • No deposit and housing maintenance fees are required and the monthly rent ranges from 350,000 won to 700,000 won depending on the type of the room.

3) Homestay

  • The room size is a bit bigger than that of gosiwon.
  • The strongest point is that since you would be living with your landlord, usually two cooked meals a day are offered.
  • No deposit and housing maintenance fees are required and the monthly rent with meals included would range from 400,000 won to 500,000 won.
  • They are mostly located in quiet residential areas nearby universities and some homestays are women-only.

Issuance of Alien Registration Card

Foreigners wishing to stay in Korea longer than 90 days are required to visit the nearest office of Korea Immigration Service to have their alien registration card issued.
